Holifya is based on two main scientific pillars: Nutrigenetics and Nutrigenomics.
Nutrigenetics is the science that studies the small genetic variations (polymorphisms, of which "SNPs" are the most frequent) that exist in single genes and in the regions between genes and explores the relationship between these variations and nutrients.
Genetic makeup can influence your health response to nutrients . In fact, the body's response to different foods can be very different from one person to another.
It is precisely these polymorphisms that cause variable responses of individual subjects to specific nutrients (e.g., different sensitivity to refined and whole carbohydrates, to the absorption and breakdown of fats, etc.).
Nutrigenomics explores the relationship between nutrients and the genome and how nutrients can affect DNA in its gene expression, changing the expression of the genetic code, silencing or activating the transcription of some genes.
